Kuwait: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Planning and Development Hind Al-Subaih said owners of major companies will be allowed to apply for visas online and that this measure will end many problems resulting from crowding. Speaking during a surprise tour at the Capital labor department, Subaih said that she had given direct instructions to automate transaction applications and online applications as soon as possible.

Kuwait: A number of lawmakers are currently working on a draft bill to establish a government company to bring in domestic workers into the country through the investment authority. Parliamentary sources said that the idea had been previously proposed by MP Kamled Al-Awadhi over a year and a half earlier, and that the government’s delay in issuing a law made them to list it on the parliament’s agenda as soon as possible.

Kuwait City: Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has officially addressed Fatwa and Legislation Department regarding the possibility of issuing a decision to increase all fees related to issuance of work permits, visa renewal and visa transfers for expatriates, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

The senior official meanwhile announced that the Manpower Public Authority’s Board of Directors could announce at the beginning of 2015 the date for reopening recruitment of foreigners in the private sector.
