More empty apartment flats in Kuwait as expatriates dwindle

Kuwait, May 5 (KUNA) - There are currently 49,130 empty apartment flats in Kuwait and 26,466 others under construction, thus more than 75,000 units need to be "absorbed" by the domestic property market in 4-5 years, according to Kuwait Real-Estate Union.

Kuwait ranked 124th in living standard survey

Kuwait City: Kuwait City ranked 124th out of 230 cities in the 2016 Quality of Living Survey released by consulting firm Mercer Tuesday. The firm conducts the survey annually based on a number of criteria, such as political stability, health care, education, crime, recreation and transport. This enables multinational companies and other employers to compensate employees fairly when placing them on international assignments. Employee incentives include quality- of-living allowance and a mobility premium.
