The Indian embassy in Kuwait still insists on imposing the KD 729 bank warranty on citizens wishing to bring in domestic workers from India, which is refundable once the contract between the maid and the sponsor is officially concluded, said informed sources.

The sources added that following the ministry of interior’s rejection of the new condition, assistant undersecretary for passports Maj Gen Mazen Al-Jarrah ordered a study of possible alternatives, that includes banning domestic workers from India.

Racer Mohammad Al-Issa came first in the sand drag championship, the 8-cylinder category, that concluded here late on Saturday.

In remarks to KUNA, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah of Basel Al-Sabah Racing Club, said the Kuwaiti racer, Barrak Al-Najjar, came second in the same contest, followed by Mohammad Al-Zaid. In the 6-C contest, Yaacoub Al-Madahka was crowned the champion of this competition, followed by Meshari Al-Mifreh and then Salem Al-Hajeri.

Al-Issa also won the open round, followed by Abdulrahman Bourahma while Ahmad Safar came third.

Ministry of Interior has formed a security team to follow up any violating activities and parties that will be held in Kuwait to celebrate the New Year, local daily reported quoting official source. A special team, which consists of 30 police officers, will observe suspicious flats, camps, stables and chalets during the period. According to sources, Kuwaiti citizens who are involved in such violations will be referred to the General Department for Criminal Evidences while expatriates will be referred for deportation.
